Stratton (2017)

Stratton (2017) is an action-thriller film directed by Simon West, based on the novel series by Duncan Falconer. The story centers on John Stratton (Dominic Cooper), a determined and skilled operative for the Special Boat Service (SBS), a branch of British naval special forces.

The plot kicks off with Stratton and his team undertaking a high-risk mission in Iran to intercept a dangerous biological weapon. However, the mission takes a dark turn when it is revealed that a former operative, Grigory Barovsky (Thomas Kretschmann), has gone rogue and is planning a catastrophic attack. Stratton and his team must race against time to stop Barovsky from unleashing mass destruction on London.

Packed with intense action sequences, espionage, and military strategy, the film showcases Stratton’s resilience and resourcefulness as he navigates betrayal, danger, and personal loss. It explores themes of loyalty and sacrifice within the high-stakes world of covert operations. While it features impressive stunts and combat scenes, Stratton received mixed reviews for its conventional storyline and character development.
